4/23/2009 - Berwick Academy 6 v. Proctor Academy 17
BA has set back on the road
This Wednesday, the Bulldogs made the trip to Andover, New Hampshire to play the Hornets of Proctor. The team new that Proctor was going to be a good club who has the tendency to jump on opponents early and put up big offensive numbers.
In the first half, Proctor jumped out to an early lead; however, the Bulldogs continued to battle and were highly competitive against Proctor. Led by the physical play of Jordan Sanford, who won over 50% of the face-offs, Berwick kept the game close early.
However, as the game wore on Proctor increased their physical play, and Berwick struggled to stay out of the box and took a few penalties that proved to be costly down the line. With that being said, the boys played hard until the final buzzer.
Highlights included Max Werman displaying his offensive prowess by netting two goals, Aaron Harris playing tenacious defense on a skilled attacker, and Grahm McGlinchey logging some more minutes in the midfield.
After the game, the coaching staff was disappointed with the loss, yet pleased with how the team conducted themselves, honored the game of lacrosse, and kept their heads held high even in the face of adversity.
The boys looked to bring their record back to .500 this Friday when they will host the Tilton School. The team thanks all of their fans for their continued support at home and on the road.
